About Us

Domiciliary Care SA is a community-based organisation with a commitment to bringing care home. We are an independent unit receiving State and Commonwealth Government funding.

Our services include physical assistance, equipment provision, help with household tasks, respite care and a range of professional and paramedical assistance.

Domiciliary Care SA primarily assists those over 65 to deal with reduced ability related to ageing. Younger people with a disability may in some instances also qualify for services. Those who are eligible will be referred to APN Service Coordination.

Through its primary health care focus, Domiciliary Care SA currently helps to promote independence and illness prevention for over 13 000 clients across Adelaide. From 2008, we will be integrating country domiciliary care services to expand our operations throughout the whole of South Australia.

Domiciliary Care SA helps prevent premature or inappropriate admission to hospital or residential care. This means cost effective outcomes for the South Australian health system that also allow more people to stay living at home - where they want to be - close to family and local community.

Domiciliary Care SA also manages the Adelaide Aged Care Assessment Team (AACAT), which offers assessment, information and advice to older people who are finding it more difficult to manage at home. In addition, we administer three business units which provide care services, equipment and training: Domiciliary Equipment Services, Therapy Solutions and Manual Handling SA.

Domiciliary Care SA aims to provide equitable, inclusive and culturally sensitive services that improve quality of life for clients, carers and families.
