Departmental Reporting
From 11 January 2007, Domiciliary Care SA (then known as
Metropolitan Domiciliary Care) commenced reporting to the
Minister for Ageing, the Hon. Jay Weatherill MP.
This involved our transfer from the South Australian Government's
Department of Health to the Department for Families and Communities.
Executive Director
The Executive Director of Domiciliary Care SA is Jane Pickering,
the former Cheif Executive Officer of Metropolitan Domiciliary
Care.
The Executive Director drives the achievement of objectives
within Domiciliary Care SA's strategic directions.

Executive Management Committee
Domiciliary Care SA is managed by an Executive Management
Committee, consisting of:
- the Executive Director as Chairperson,
- the General Manager of Client Services,
- the General Manager of Financial and Corporate Services,
and
- the General Manager of Organisational Development and
Staff Services.
The Executive Management Committee is accountable to the
Executive Director.
Its objectives include:
- ensuring that the Strategic Plan, Strategic Directions
and Business Plan are taken into account, actioned and reviewed
as appropriate,
- evaluating Domiciliary Care SA ’s business activity
and business needs,
- considering and approving funding priorities,
- monitoring the implementation of organisation-wide strategies,
- monitoring accreditation outcomes,
- appraising new policies,
- ensuring appropriate communication and sharing of information
across different areas of the organisation, and
- overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation
of Domiciliary Care SA ’s performance management framework.

Funding
Domiciliary Care SA receives Australian Government and South
Australian Government funding, and is primarily funded by
the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program,
a cost-shared agreement between the Australian Government
and South Australian Government.
The South Australian Government directly provides approximately
40% of MDC’s overall funding.
Continuous improvement and accreditation
Domiciliary Care SA is committed to organisational improvement.
A culture of continuous improvement means more effective services
and better systems to support our clients, carers and staff.
Domiciliary Care SA ’s Organisational Improvement Unit
has been established to:
- help continuously improve systems and processes,
- maximise safety and eliminate error,
- ensure products, services and outcomes meet, and where
possible exceed, the expectations of clients and stakeholders.
Accreditation for Domiciliary Care SA across a range of recognised
Standards is required to meet the requirements of the Department
of Health and the HACC Agreement.
During our existence as MDC, we demonstrated compliance with:
- the HACC Minimum Standards,
- Aged Care Standards Accreditation for Tregenza Avenue
Aged Care Service, and
- the Quality Improvement Council’s Health and Community
Service Standards.
Consumer Participation
The Domiciliary Care SA Consumer Participation Strategy
promotes and supports a range of opportunities for our clients
and carers to influence the development and improvement of
our organisation, including:
